Casuarina Senior College

Library Refurbishment

WINNER – 2021 NT Architecture Awards – Commendation for Educational Architecture

WINNER – 2021 NT Architecture Awards – The People’s Choice Award

Project Description

The newly refurbished Library at Casuarina Senior College, provides staff and students with a new Resource Centre that has multiple activity and learning spaces which are flexible, transparent and increase operational efficiency.

New external windows now allow natural light to penetrate and provide a green outlook into the park, enhancing user productivity and wellbeing.

The design concept was delivered in three Zones; Collaboration, Transition and Quiet. Each with their own colour and materials palette to encourage that Zones activity. The design references the schools Casuarina Tree logo and building’s newfound connection with the landscape through natural textures, patterns and materials.

Ashford Architects in collaboration with Schapel Interiors and their consulting teams have delivered a modern inviting space for students, staff and the community to use and enjoy.  Through its contemporary design, the Centre is reflective of the school’s position at the forefront of high-quality senior education and creativity.
